God and Light: The Universal Constant

By Shayn Wallace Roby

When Albert Einstein began to explore the relationship between energy and matter, he eventually stumbled across the constant that binds the two.  The amount of energy that is present within a given amount of matter can be calculated by multiplying its mass by the velocity of the light ( 299,792,458 meters per second), raised to the second power, or as is more commonly known:   E= mc^2.   Of course the dimension that is not quite so obvious in this equation is time.  Mass, length (distance), and time are the three measurements that come into play in Einstein’s theory of relativity.  As an object approaches the speed of light (the constant), time slows down, length becomes shorter, but mass increases.  Modern day physicists have actually constructed large machines that accelerate the speed of electrons to  within one ten-billionth of a  meter per second of the speed of light.  The relativistic (inertial) mass of these electrons approach 40,000 times that of their  rest (gravitational) mass.

The c squared portion of E equals m times c squared is referred to as the constant (times itself).  In the Holy Bible, God’s Word let’s us know that He is a constant as well.  The book of Psalms tells us in Chapter 102nd Chapter and the 27th verse:

But you are always the same; you will live forever.

As EmbracedByTruth.com states, “The very name of God, “I Am,” denotes his constancy; God is what He has always been, and what He is, and what He will always be.”  The Holy Bible tells us in 1 John 1:5:

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

Einstein’s theory of relativity hypothesized that the speed of light is a constant and that time actually stops when an object’s velocity reaches the speed (in a specific direction) of light.  This physical characteristic of light, would support what the Word tells us in the book of Revelation in the first chapter and the eighth verse:

“I am (the) Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

That actually makes sense.  God IS LIGHT.  Einstein actually theorized that anything traveling at the speed of light, or at GODspeed if you will, would make time stand still.  GOD is all knowing, He is not bound by the chains of time.  He is the Alpha and the Omega, THE BEGINNING and THE END.  It is quite the phenomenon that particle accelerators generate more and more energy toward  a true limit, as defined by calculus.  More and more energy is put in, and the mass of the subatomic particles is ever exponentially increasing.  By definition, as the mass increases the equation E equals MC squared tells us that the time that elapses must pass infinitely slower.  Just playing with the units in E= MC^2 gives us:     E= (grams) (velocity)(velocity) or (grams)(m/s)(m/s) = (grams)(meters)(meters) *1/seconds* 1/seconds .  Using this equation to interpret an increase in mass we would say (grams) = (seconds)^2 * 1/meters^2.  Putting this in layman’s terms: An exponential increase in mass will equal an exponential amount of time passing between moments as the speed of light is infinitely approached, and as the dimensions of  matter becomes infinitely shorter.  The mathematics of Einstein’s theory of relativity seem to suggest that perhaps GODspeed is infinite, which would indeed agree with Revelation 1: 8.  Indeed, The Great I AM, the Original Light, is the BEGINNING and the END.  He is not bound by the confounds of time.  His Light travels into infinity, unrestricted by the universe.  He is THE SOURCE, and the mathematics of Einstein’s theory of relativity supports that hypothesis.  Einstein recognized light is a constant.  Whether he recognized that THE LIGHT is THE CONSTANT is another issue entirely.  However, the equation that Albert Einstein is famous for, indeed seems to point to the infinite, omniscient, all powerful GREAT I AM, who is infinite in His Power, Glory, and Majesty.
